Designing the stories of the brands that inspire us

We partner with visionaries who see disruptions as natural twists in the storyline, people committed to meaningful change by asking “why” before calculating “how much.”

is a diverse collective of people and talent, focused on telling the stories of purpose-driven brands.

Why

Because Purpose is greater than Product. So we gravitate to brands with purposeones looking to achieve connection and not just a transaction.

These shared values help us tell a brand’s story; smart collaboration lets us navigate the challenges of doing business better together.

How everyone benefits is something we tally on our balance sheet.

How

As creatives with a wide range of experience in entertainment, we take a storytelling approach to brand-building. The lights dimming in a movie theater, the opening bars of a theme song: these moments of anticipation are what we strive to replicate.

In our script, the brand is the story’s hero. Suspend your disbelief and we’ll supply the wonder.

What

Whether the plan is to design a box, or to break out of one, we establish brand identities in physical and digital spaces.

The Martians

Hilario Bango

CEO / Creative Director

Hilario Bango

CEO / Creative Director

Hilario was born and raised in Buenos Aires, where a rich mix of arts and culture inspired him to study Audiovisual Design. He continued to feed his creative side producing and directing for advertising, film, and television clients including Disney, Nickelodeon, and Coca-Cola.

In 2011 Hila moved to Boston where he joined Cue Ball Capital, an unconventional VC firm focused on purpose-driven brands. His experience with brand building, entrepreneurship and creativity propelled him to co-found Martian Arts, where he applies the art and power of storymaking and design to the firm’s initiatives and client campaigns.

In the belief that a brand’s evolution is like a hero’s journey, Hilario has helped founders identify their brand purpose and articulate their narratives, crafting everything from the visual expression of a brand’s identity to its content pillars. Since the founding of Martian Arts, Hila has worked as a creative advisor to brands such as TB12, MiniLuxe, Virgin Pulse, Tea Drops, Futuredontics (1-800-Dentist) and more.

Fascinated by the way a story can open minds and shape cultures, he makes use of that power each day at Martian Arts, and each evening telling bedtime stories to his sons.

Kai Peters

Managing Director

Kai Peters

Managing Director

Throughout Kai’s winding career path there has always been an underlying theme of helping teams be successful by bringing out the best in people. This began in sports as a collegiate athlete and continued in her professional endeavors as a producer, agent, project and account manager, digital marketer, and now, as the managing director of Martian Arts.
Kai has worked with a wide variety of brands such as Scholastic, Bank of America, Men’s Health Magazine, Target, ESPN, Kraft, and more. She joined Martian Arts in 2019 and became a full-time team member in 2020, focusing on expanding the agency’s reach and sharing the stories of many more inspiring brands.
When she’s not working with fellow Martians or clients, you’ll find Kai chasing after her very active, tiny ones (possibly with a glass of wine in hand), outside being sporty, or researching inspiration for her next massive “cheese table” (because “cheese boards” are just too small).

His portfolio includes work for Formula 1, Toyota, Bridgestone, Samsung, Disney and Cartoon Network, as well as industry accolades for his Audiovisual Design accomplishments.

Karen Testa remembers growing up surrounded by pencils, pens and brushes — tools that inspired her artistic sensibilities. She studied graphic design at the University of Buenos Aires but has also experimented with other media including photography, scenography, screen printing, and clothing design.
