The Opportunity
Become the Third Space People Need
We have more access to fitness, wellness, and health information than ever before. Yet people are increasingly overwhelmed, isolated, and searching for ways to live healthier, longer lives.
The global wellness economy has reached $2 trillion, and nearly 60% of consumers say healthy aging is a top or very important priority. At the same time, Gen Z and Millennials report higher levels of burnout and worse overall health than previous generations.
For VASA, the opportunity was bigger than fitness. It was to evolve from a low-cost gym into a third space: a place outside of home and work where people could find structure, community, and a grounding counterpoint to the chaos of everyday life.
The Challenge
Make Strength Feel Inviting, Not Intimidating.
As we immersed ourselves in the brand, talking with leadership, coaches, and members, and spending time inside its clubs, we discovered a revealing contradiction.
People were posting on social media about sitting in their cars, afraid to walk into the gym. That hesitation revealed a gap between how intimidating the gym can feel from the outside and the supportive community waiting inside. The reality was a group of coaches meeting people where they are, members encouraging one another, and an environment built around progress rather than perfection.
The challenge wasn’t to make VASA look stronger. It was to redefine what strength could look and feel like.
The Solution
Build the Brand Around the Strength Already Within.
Built to Be Strong became the expression of a simple belief: strength isn’t reserved for the strongest person in the room. It’s something everyone already possesses.
Rather than leading with price, equipment, and amenities, we built the brand around the people who bring VASA to life and the wins, big and small, that come from showing up.
Strength training, recovery, coaches, and community became part of a larger promise: helping people build the strength to live healthier, longer, more connected lives.
Because VASA doesn’t give people strength.
It gives them a place to find it.
